Mailing lists allow you to collect up to 200 contacts on one list, which will then be available at one email address. By creating and sending an email to the list address, you’ll instantly reach a whole group of recipients, without having to enter each email address separately.
Using the mailing list settings, you can also specify which users of the list will be able to send email to its members, thus informing all its recipients in one send.
Examples of applications for mailing lists:
- dissemination of important information to specific groups of recipients,
- sending emails to employees from specific departments,
- creating one e-mail address for a group of friends to exchange ideas and / or information,
- sending e-mail messages to selected clients in one operation.
You can create up to 50 mailing lists on the server at home.pl, from which you can publish different information on each. With this function, you can specify which information will go to a specific group of recipients.
A mailing list is not the same as an email inbox
The mailing list is not the same as the group of recipients, i.e. the group created in the e-mail address book, e.g. using Webmail (mail home.pl).
Fat recipients are collected several email addresses that are placed in the OD field when sending an email. For such a solution to work in the organization, it was necessary for each user to have such a group contact in his address book. Each update (adding a new member) would mean having to inform all users. Correspondence sent in this way is no different from sending a message to several recipients by entering each separately.
The mailing list is a type of email address (this is not an email inbox). The email address used as the mailing list has additional parameters:
- unique address
- unique and limited recipients
- a closed group of senders
- additional parameters related to the content and subject of the message
The mailing list is administered from the level of your Account Control Panel. So you can quickly create, update and delete mailing lists, and inform its members only from the email address (mailing list address) currently used.
Mailing list in your company
In the organization, mailing lists often specify selected departments of the company, e.g. HR has the address HR@company.com name and the company’s management board: board@company.com name. Both lists are limited only to activities inside the company, so no one random (e.g. an Internet user who invents non-existent email addresses) will not be able to send email to these addresses, or join a group.
This solution can also work the other way around. Instead of creating an e-mail inbox, setting up mail forwarding, you can create a mailing list, e.g. contact@company.com name and publicly publish it on the Internet. The mailing list will gather recipients in the form of company departments interested in message from customers, e.g. customer service. As a result, immediately all employees interested in reporting will receive a message, and in the event of a response, they will control the flow of information from each member of the group.
