How to delegate a subdomain to another DNS server?

Domain redirection to external DNS servers means that all domain support is transferred to another company. If you want to leave your mail and websites in your domain at home.pl, you can, for example: add a new subdomain and direct it to external DNS servers. Due to the specificity of the service which is a subdomain, i.e. an additional address created in the domain name, the subdomain delegation requires the creation of additional domain records.

How to create a  subdomain?

1. Log in to the home.pl Control Panel. Check how to log in to the Control Panel. How to turn on customer panel in English?
2. Go to the section: Domains, which is located on the left side of the screen.
   
3. The screen will display a list of domains registered by you. Click on the domain name for which you create a subdomain.
   
4. Click the Add subdomain button. Enter the subdomain name or name before the domain name. For example, enter new to create the new.my-simple-domain.com address
   

How to delegate a subdomain to another DNS server?

1. Go to the section: Domains, which is located on the left side of the screen.
   
2. The screen will display a list of domains registered by you. Click on the domain name for which you edit DNS records a subdomain.
   
3. In the list of subdomains, click the name of the subdomain whose settings you want to change.
4. Click: Actions > Manage DNS records.
   
   
5. Add new record.
   
6. Repeat this instruction as many times as the values of the DNS record you have to enter, eg dns.another.com, dns2.another.com and dns3.another.com, entering each one as a separate NS record.
7. Fill out the form displayed:
   • Record type – select the „NS” record.
   • Name Server – enter the address of the first DNS server of the external operator (to whom you want to delegate the subdomain).
   • Host (optional) – enter the name of the subdomain (e.g. „store”) to be created and sent to external DNS servers.
   • TTL (optional) – enter 3600 (default setting) – this is the time when other DNS servers will store the entry in their cache. In conclusion, in this field specify how often DNS servers are to update information about your domain in your cache.
8. Click: OK to create a new record. This will be tantamount to creating a subdomain (e.g., new.simple-domain.com”), which will be sent to DNS servers provided by you.
